Based in the Cotswolds, I am an award- winning garden designer looking to work with busy professionals and discerning individuals throughout Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire. Affiliated to the Society of Garden Designers, I'm happy to help with a full garden design, with refreshing a specific area of the garden or with planting ideas and suggestions.

Cotswold Garden Designer - Witney
The process

Garden site assessment & survey.

Whether you need a partial or whole garden redesign, I will firstly visit the site to discuss your requirements with you and to conduct a full survey. This includes photographing and measuring the existing garden. Depending on the size and complexity of your garden an external surveyor may be required but this will be discussed at the initial visit.

At this stage, I will also ask you to complete a questionnaire which will help me understand how you currently use your garden, your style preferences & any practicalities to consider.

Mood Boards

Digital mood boards are, at concept stage, a great way to discuss some features that we might include in your garden. They might be used as a way to decide which specific materials might be used, for example for paving, or for some of the colour and shape of the planting that might be included. Also to get an overall feel of how the garden will look on completion.

The Master Layout Plan

The Master Layout Plan is the final agreed plan that your landscaper will work from to build the garden. It is drawn to scale using measurements taken from the survey and represents where the new elements in the garden will sit as well as the materials to be used. It will also show any new trees and more structural planting such as hedges.

Planting plans

These are the plans for the planting in the garden. The plant varieties are thoroughly researched, specific to your garden and taking into account the soil type (tests are usually carried out at the survey stage) and aspect as well as the style of the garden and your personal tastes.

I am also happy to source the plants for you at competitive prices from specialist suppliers, and to quote for receiving the delivered plants and laying out, ready for planting out by you or your gardener.
